It turned out to be another fascinating gameweek, as Matchday 3 of the AccessBank Division One League 2022-23 saw some blockbuster encounters, with some results turning out to be shocking ones.

Although the competition is still 25 games away from determining the promotion race, it is a long shot. However, it seems like the league tables in Zone 1A and Zone 1B is beginning to take shape in its early days. The battle of the WAs and the Bofoakwa-Warriors clash happened to be the headliners, however there was drama at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium as Steadfast came from two goals to draw Eleven Wonders.

Maana SC gives Debibi a reality check?

Third placed side Maana SC has managed to pull things back after a set back last week. On Sunday, it hosted Zone 1A league leader Debibi United, and the hosts proved why the visitors don’t need to be complacent, having scripted a win against mostly lower-ranked sides Kunbung Binbiem Fc now. Majeed Issshaku dazzled on debut, and was on hand again to sink Enos Adepa’s men in Wa.

Steadfast FC held by Eleven Wonders

Eleven Wonders has not been in the best of forms since dropping into the Division One League, though is too early to predict, having managed just one win and a defeat in their opening game. While it was expected to give a stern challenge to its opponent Steadfast FC away from Techiman on Sunday, it managed to do so but could only settle for a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, piling an early pressure on Abu Hanan. Steadfast FC came into this encounter very optimistic but needed a 93rd minute equalizer from Deen Ibrahim to salvage a point.

Wa Suntaa shock Yasin in Techiman to pick first win

Wa Suntaa has also witnessed a shaky start to the season, yet to win ahead of Sunday’s encounter. Playing away from home was more threatening especially against a good side. The Blues were expected to be up for a fight, and their relief, the guest survived the battle and won a 5 goal thriller, thanks to a late strikes from Abdulai Salifu which eventually took them off the bottom of the table.

Baffour Soccer Academy piles more misery on Berekum Arsenal

Things are horrendous for former Premier League side Berekum Arsenal , as it is at rock bottom without a win, having lost their opening two matches. As it welcomed fourth-placed Baffour Soccer Academy on Sunday, the host were edged 1-0 to make it three defeats in a row.

Young Apostles edges past Mighty Royals

Zone 1B leaders Young Apostles has strongly indicated that it is truly in the promotion race, having three wins and still looking for more is a warning to the rest of the teams. As they travelled to Wamanafo on Sunday , it was supposed to be a tough task for the away side. However, it turned out to be a tight race, but conformable for Apostles with strikes from Francis Boffour Addae and Henry Kwasi got the job done 2-1.

Nkoranza Warriors gets a taste of Bofoakwa’s integrity

Second-placed Bofoakwa Tano is yet to lose a game this season. However, with a draws in their second game against Rivals B. A United, they have 7 points and confortably behind Young Apostles in what promises to be a tight race in Zone 1B. The Hunters faced stiff competition from Nkoranza Warriors but settled for a the three points, with Saaka Dauda and Nana Kwame’s own goal.

Having drawn their opening two games of the season, B. A United picked their first win with a deserved 1-0 victory at Unity FC. The result pushes them 4th on the table and still unbeaten.
