Techiman based Wa Yassin ended Steadfast FC’s unbeaten home run in the 2022/23 Access Bank Division One League season by beating them 1-0 after a hugely entertaining game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Steadfast FC were excellent for large parts of the encounter and looked the more likely of the sides to go on and win. However, Wa Yassin hit the Gungdu Boys with a sucker punch that saw Adu Yaw latch onto a through ball to settle the scores and end Steadfast their three home unbeaten run.

Debibi United marked a return to the top of the table in style as they beat Kunbung Binbiem 2-0 at the Presby Park on Sunday. The home side had dropped to second after losing last week but got back to winning ways with an emphatic victory courtesy of Asamoah Eugene’s double.

Binbiem FC woes on the road

Defeat at the Presby Park marked their fouth loss in five games, the most in Zone 1A and put them in a difficult situation as they battle to avoid relegation in just one season.

At the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman, Andrew’s Kuma marked his name on the score sheet with a crucial goal as Eleven Wonders clinched a 2-1 win over Wa Suntaa, reviving their promotion hopes. It was a sweet return to winning ways for the former Premier League side after defeat to Kasena-Nakana United last week.

In the other Zone 1A encounter, Maana SC beat Kasena-Nakana United by a lone goal to pick the maximum points at the Malik Jabril Park in Wa.

In Zone 1B, Saaka Dauda scored a brace as Bofoakwa Tano continued their unbeaten run in the 2022 – 23 AccessBank Division One League after defeating Berekum Arsenal 3-0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Time is running our for Berekum Arsenal who are yet to register a point after 6 games into the season. They currently occupy the bottom of the table with 0 point and risk going down to division if their fortunes don’t turn for the good.

Young Apostles remain in second after a hard fought 1-0 win away to B. A United. Kwame Larbi Henaku was on hand to deliver the hammer blow to the Apostles of Ghana Football ( B. A United) as they chase Bofoakwa Tano for the promotion slot.

Unity FC picked their first point of the season after scoring late to come from behind to draw 1-1 with Mighty Royals whiles the game involving Nkoranza Warriors Vs Baffour Soccer Academy ended in goalless.
