The agent of Barcelona signing Vitor Roque admits they had bigger offers from Manchester United and Tottenham.
Roque has been sold by Athletico Paranaense this week to Barca for a fee rising to €65m – plus a further €10m due in commissions.
Agent André Cury has revealed United and Tottenham were ready to pay more for the striker.
“We received much bigger offers from Tottenham and Manchester United for Vitor Roque. It was over €100m,” he told the Charla podcast.
“But his career plan is well prepared and we chose Barcelona. It is not the right time to look at the money but at the career.”
Cury acted as Barca’s chief South American scout until last year.
Vitor Roque has scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 30 competitive games this season.
