In a bid to support the development of football across the country as stated in his manifesto, the Ghana Football Association President, Mr. Kurt ES Okraku as part of his tour of the north inspected the Game Centre projects being undertaking by the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) led by Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo.
He commended the NRFA Boss and the Regional ExCo members for the good job they have started and pledged his full support for everything they are doing to improve Northern football because it will go a long way to improve Ghana football.
Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo commenting on the idea behind the game center pitches, told the GFA Boss that, “In line with your [Kurt Okraku] ‘Game Centre’ mantra, that says we should try as much as possible to create centers that will enable people to converge at one place to play the game and create excitement, I took it upon myself with the able support of the Regional ExCo to do some pitches here such that people will converge at one point and the excitement will be created for the game”.
This move of creating game centers here in the Northern Region according to the NRFA Boss was to get the attention of the GFA President and if that is achieved, then he [Kurt Okraku, the GFA President] could support since the foundation has already been laid.
The Stadium Annex pitches could host as many as six (6) football matches simultaneously and the Kaladan Park would also host a number of games as well.
The FA boss from Tamale will be moving to Yendi to pay a courtesy call on Yaa-Naa.
