Black Meteors defender Alhassan Uzairu has landed in The Netherlands to join Utrecht after an excellent season in Ghana.

Tamale Utrecht Academy where the player currently plies his trade has an agreement with the parent club to sign stars in the Academy.

Uzairu , 18, is expected to officially sign his contract in the coming days, before a possible loan deal to Germany. It is understood the former U-17 captain would get opportunities at Utrecht but would entertain a loan move to develop.

The arrival of the U-20 Gold Medalist will be a moral booster for coach CK Akonnor as Uzairu would be knocking at his doors very soon. Alhassan Uzairu has gotten the right transition in his development after graduating from the U-17, U-20 and now with the U-23 national team, the Black Meteors.

The Ghana youth player who was pictured at the Kotoka International Airport with Tamale Utrecht Football Academy CEO on Saturday, arrived on Sunday dawn and is expected to join his new club right away in training.

“The chance to come here and play in the Eredivisie is something I couldn’t turn down.

“There is a lot more that I want to achieve in my career and I know I’m joining a squad full of young players who will all have the same determination to develop” . Uzairu on arrival.
