Northern Ladies FC striker, Alhassan Rafia has left the shores of Ghana to continue her education in Navaro College, Taxas in the United States Of America.

Studying and pursuing a career in football in the States is common among the women football fraternity in Ghana and therefore not surprising the top scorer for the club in last month’s Women’s Unity games took that path.

Rafia therefore becomes the second Northern Ladies player to jet off to the United Stats after former captain, Mukarama Abdulai joined Tyler Junior College in Texas.

Alhassan Rafia who joined Northern Ladies as a floating player two years ago was the club’s top scorer with eight goals in the Northern Region Women’s Unity Games in Kumbungu last month and had pledged to step into the shoes of Mukarama.

The former Fabulous Ladies player says she’s excited for this trip but looking forward to the challenge in the States.
