The Indomitable Lions kicked off the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe, while Mali’s Eagles achieved the same result against Burkina Faso to share the pool’s top spot. A victory on Wednesday will see either of them putting a leg into the quarterfinals.

Salomon Charles Banga scored after 72 minutes to give Cameroon a vital win against Zimbabwe in CHAN opener last Saturday. Coach Martin Mpile will be keen to see his side grabbing a second win, as they are targeting the title on their home soil.

Meanwhile, Mali scored after 70 minutes thanks to left back Siyaka Bagayoko’s stunner to defeat Burkina Faso. Experienced coach Nouhoum Diané knows well what it takes to face the hosts, especially with a place in the final eight at stake.

Cameroon and Mali face each other for the second time in CHAN history. The Indomitable Lions won 1-0 on 10 February 2011 in Sudan.
