Real Tamale United face an uphill battle against Kintampo Fc this weekend, but head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has been part of a famous comeback on Wednesday.

The Sports Director for the University for Development Studies wants to use the midweek famous comeback as inspiration when his side travel to Kintampo on Sunday.

RTU go into the encounter after staging one of the comebacks in the division one league this season, recovering from three goals down to beat Nsoatreman Fc 4-3 to revive their premiership ambitions.

Coach Tanko knows The Pride of The North need a flawless display if they are to repeat the feat, but draws hope from that Nsoatreman Fc encounter as they continue their search for their first away win this season.

“It looked like it was over at half-time,” the former Medeama coach said of the first half performance. “I have to say I have a listening team because I told them if they want to play Premier League Football, then they must win the game, a draw or defeat wouldn’t take you there and they listened. I told them if they have scored three in 45 minutes, we can score three in 45 minuted, and that’s what actually happened” he continued.

The former Hearts of Oak trainer said people should not be surprised by this comeback as it nearly happened to Steadfast when RTU came from two goals to draw 2-2 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in week five of the ongoing Division One League.

He said the team is inspired by the results and would do everything to maintain that spirit in the set up.
