‘Determination and zeal to qualify the team to the Premier League is what is driving us’ – RTU captain

Real Tamale United’s midfield star and captain Hardi Abdulai Mohammed has spoken about the players desire to take home the ticket in Zone 1, which will bring Premier Football back to the Northern Region this season for the Supporters.

Speaking during an interview with Sadick Obama on Sports Salad on Angel Fm in Accra, the attacking midfielder exclaimed how fortunate he and his colleagues feel to be in the position to make themselves proud as they March towards qualification to next season’s Premier League.

RTU currently top the Zone One League Table, three points ahead of Steadfast in second with ten matches to go. With an unbeaten second round so far on course, the former Guan United player has attributed their dominance this season to hard work, determination and the players Zeal to qualify the team back to where they belong.

“ we are aware how difficult it is to play in the Division One but when you start the season, your aim is to qualify. You know the Division One League is hectic and hard, so we are really proud as players to be in a position to be able to win qualify”, the 27 year-old said.

He continued, ” we are quite aware of the challenge from Steadfast and Bofoakwa Tano but we are determined to qualify and make our supporters happy”

When asked about motivation to players, he said this year is far better than the previous years but the biggest motivation for a player at this level is qualify to play in the top flight of Ghana Football, which is their priority.

Real Tamale United will resume Divion one League action this weekend after they beat local rivals Gbewaa FC 7-0 on Sunday to book a place in the next round of the MTN FA Cup competition. They welcome Nsoatreman FC to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium hoping to stretch their lead at the top of the Zone 1 League table.
