Division One League giant, Real Tamale United, returned to training for the first time in six months, ahead of the start of the 2020/21 football season.

This follows the lifting of the ban on football activities by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 17th Address to the Nation on the update of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Football and other contact sports were halted in March 2020 due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic around the world, leading to the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season.

RTU finished the first round of the abrupt 2019/20 season in 13th place, as lack of preparations and financial challenges hindered their performances in Zone one of the Division One League.

And, after assurance of full support by the Board Chairman of the club, Dr. Issahaku Nashiru in an engagement with the team on Friday, the head coach, Ibrahim Shaibu Tanko has set the tone for pre-season training today ahead of the new season which kicks off in December.

Over 28 players both old and new players were present for the first day on Monday and training continues on Tuesday.
