Real Tamale United defender, Bawa Samuel, took a dig at Mighty Royals after his side win on Saturday evening at the Aliu Mahama Stadium Stadium.
The Northern Blues produced an outstanding away performance to pick their first win of the season and consolidate a good position on the Division One League table.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side recorded a 1-0 home win, but the scoreline could have been far more if they had converted their chances.
After two defeats and three draws in the previous five league matches, it was the perfect response from RTU to produce arguably their most eye-catching performance of the season against Mighty Royals.
And man of the match Bawa Samuel says he’s happy to have helped the team picked their first league win. Bawa has played all but one of RTU’s seven matches in all competition since joining from Techiman City.
The lanky defender believes the victory is the turning point for RTU and has won other clubs to be wary of the threat his sides will impose going forward. The Pride of the North will travel to Paga to engage Crocodile in a penultimate match on Sunday.
