Real Tamale United swept to their first league win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Mighty Royals.

After a dismal start to the season with just three points from a possible fifteen , RTU look revitalised under Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko and the former Medeama and Hearts of Oak gaffer was able to celebrate his first win after the most emphatic display against Steadfast Fc where they came from a two goals down to draw on Wednesday.

It was characteristic of a stop-start season in which they were yet to win three Division One League games in a row.

Stephen Gura’s side came into the game with confidence after recording victory over Tamale City last week on the same ground, and although they improved after the break, they were undone by 90th minute goal from Stephen Dankwah.

Victory for RTU ended a run of two home games without a win in the division and lifted them provisionally to 7th place, three points behind Mighty Royals.

In other Zone one results, Bofoakwa Tank left it late defeat Steadfast 2-1 at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Real Tamale United will travel to Paga to face The Crocodiles while Mighty Royals are at home against Bofoakwa Tano.
