Tamale City’s charge towards promotion into the Ghana premier League gathered momentum as a 2-0 win over Nsoatreman Fc took them to within three points temporary of B.A United in Zone One league table.

Hamza Mohammed’s men did it the hard way at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, scoring two gaols in the second half after a difficult 45 minutes in the first half.

The visitors composed themselves in the first half and looked tidy in possession with Issac Kwame Yeboah and Evans Odoom standing up well to balls coming into their box from wide areas.

It looked like the Citizens lacked football ingredients until the introduction of Michael Nsiah late in the first half, and he made an immediate impact in the second half when he opened the scoring in the 66th minute after a clever pass from captain Abass.

And Ankudey Promes’s goal in the 90th minute send the Citizens fourth temporary in the Zone One league Table.

“It was a great second half-performance, I wasn’t impressed by the first performance because they dictated the pace of the game and we gave the balls easily,” said the Tamale City coach . “But our reaction was good. My players showed the character they possess, they didn’t feel sorry for themselves and created pressure and momentum and the supporters drove us on and lifted the players.

City’s next game is at home against Kintampo FC in round of 64 of the 2019/20 MTN Fa Cup.
