Real Tamale United head Coach, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko believes he is only four or five players away from having a team that can see them compete at the top of the table.

The former Pride of the North player has told club management to improve on last Winter’s recruitment drive and will give the club’s Chief Executive Officer a shortlist of players he wants.

RTU have had an unimpressive start to the season but after their 1-0 lost to Tamale City on Sunday, they currently sit thirteenths in table after 13 games. Surprisingly the team has won only two games, drawn five and lost six have scored ten goals and conceded thirteen.

However, they are still twelve points off the top-four and 18 points off league leaders B.A United.

Coach Tanko has identified where he wants the management to strengthen his side over the transfer window and according to the Sports24online.com, he has former Tamale Utrecht Football Academy attacking midfielder, Martin, at least three strikers and one central defender other two midfielder on his wanted list.

The University For Development Studies Sports Director is optimistic those additions will improve the team’s chances of making the top four at the end of the season.

Footballing activities has be put on hold by the GFA due to Corona Virus.
