Ghana and Nantes prodigy Abdul Majeed Waris joined the entire team of Nantes to show love and support for his former team mate Emiliano Sala who has gone missing.
The 28year old Agentine signed for Premier league club Cadiff City on 19th January and was expecting by 21st January to start his EPL career. However, his flight disappeared in space and has since not be found.
Sala has scored 13 French Lique 1 goals this season providing 2 assists.
The world of sports not only football is in a state of shock but all remain optimistic and praying for the possibility of finding Sala.
Majeed Waris who still cannot believe the disturbing news speaking to Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni of Zaa Radio in Tamale in tears said, ‘I have prayed for him to be found just like we [Nantes team] hugged and prayed for him to be successful going to Cardiff City”.
He described Sala as “very calm, quiet and a professional player that every player would love to play with, he relates well with all of us especially me [Waris] because we are all strikers. We share a great love so much so that we always encourage each other to play well and score goals.
When Waris was pushed by his brother [Prince Mukadi] to let out how he feels because he was emotional and hesitant, he said “I Can’t still believe it because last week by this time, we had played 3 games away and we were all on the same plane with Sala, I feel so down with the news but what can we say, than to give everything to God”.
He used the opportunity to wish Kevin Prince Boateng well and the best of luck with his move to FC Barcelona and finally thanked all sports journalists and presenters for the support shown him from day one of his football career.
