The head coach of Ghana’s senior national team, CK Akonnor has named four home-based players in his squad for the two qualifying matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in September.

Nicknamed the Black Stars, the team will next month take on South Africa and Ethiopia in crucial games as they begin a campaign to search for the ticket to return to the world cup after missing the last edition.

At a press conference today, Coach CK Akonnor has announced his squad for the upcoming matches.

Having monitored the Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup throughout the 2020/2021 football season, the Black Stars coach has decided to give chances to four players.

They include Richard Attah, Ismail Abdul Ganiu, Philimon Baffour, and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

All these players have been key for their respective teams and will hope to help the national team to pick maximum points from the South Africa and Ethiopia matches.
