Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font says Ronald Koeman won’t remain as coach should he win the election.
Former Barca captain Koeman was named Blaugrana coach this morning.
But Font says: “If I am president, I would not change my plans because we really believe it is essential to implement the project that we have been working for several years for the medium-long term.
“This is a short-term world but we want Barça to continue competing in 2030 to win the Champions League and with property in the hands of its members.
“If I am president, Koeman will not be a coach from what I can say. Koeman is a myth of Barcelona, we have to thank him very much that with the complexity that exists today in the club, and in the dressing room, and with the decisions that have to be made, he takes on the challenge. We must wish him the best of success and hopefully we win the treble.
“If in the end it were necessary and he wanted to, he could still contribute to our project in some way, but we would apply our project worked on in its main structure from the sports vice president to the last youth soccer coach based on the organisation chart that we have prepared for a long time.”
