Ghana DOL: Committed RTU Supporters donate footballs and jerseys to the club

Vibrant Real Tamale United Supporters wing, Committed Supporters of RTU mainly drawn from institutions such as UDS, Ghana Health Services, NGOs and other agencies donated sets of training equipment to the club on Monday at their training ground.

The group whose objective is to support the team and those who through divers ways have contributed to the forward March of the Pride of the North, on Monday donated six footballs and a set of jersey to the club.

The group led by Dr. Alhassan Musah, Alhaji Rahim Ahmed, former secretary to RTU, Joe Harry Baba Dua, Alhaji Mohammed Amin, presented the items to the team to the surprise of almost everyone.

Speaking to the technical team and the playing body, Alhaji Rahim Ahmed said the gesture was to encourage the team to fight and return Real Tamale United to where they belong to in Ghana Football ( the Premier League). According to him this is just the beginning and that the group will continue to support the club to achieve their aim.

Joe Harry Baba and Alhaji Mohammed Amin Abio also took time to appreciate the hard work of the players and the technical team but urged them to continue to work extra harder to bring RTU back to the top flight of Ghana Football.

Captain Hardi Mohammed Abdulai received the items on behalf of his team mates as they seek to make a return to the Premier League after eight years in the wilderness.

Head coach of RTU, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko said the gesture has come at the right time, when the playing body did not have training kit. ” we thank you for this kind gesture, those who have been coming to our training ground would see that we don’t look uniform during our sessions because we don’t have training kits.”

After four weeks of action, Real Tamale United occupy the third position with 9 points, one adrift of Wa Suntaa and Berekum Arsenal but have a game in hand. They will battle City rivals Tamale City in a local derby on Wednesday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
