Real Tamale United soared to their fifth pre-season victory ahead of the 2020-21 Division One League as Alhassan Fauzan and Peter Ibrahim were both on target in a comfortable 2-1 win over Dreams Tamale at the Nobisco Park.

Just three days after beating Catholic Stars 2-1 at the same venue, Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side continued their resurgence in style as Fauzan’s sweet fourth-munite volley sent The Pride of the North on their way.

Abu Naeem and Frimpong both wasted good opportunities to double RTU’s lead before Anwar Hanifah’s superb save kept out Kusheibo’s fierce drive.

But Peter Ibrahim pounced on a Dreams Tamale defensive mistake to steer in a deserved second in the 51st munite as Real Tamale United recorded their fifth victory in five pre-season friendlies.

It was an entertaining, end-to-end game between two sides who played wonderful football on the day, but with differing fortunes.

Dreams Tamale dominated the opening exchanges, but failed to trouble Tijani Musah in post as they ended the first half with only one short on target.

Ibrahim Gadafi and Kojo Poku linked up well in a tight midfield space, with the latter sending the ball forward for his Fauzan. It was a bursting run from the striker as he expertly volleyed the ball over the oncoming Hanifah for his first RTU goal.

Dreams Tamale responded with a goal of their own with 12 minutes remaining, when Tijani misjudged a free kick.

Real Tamale United will resume training on Friday ahead of a trip to Walewale to engage Catholic Stars in a return match.
