Ghana DOL: Real Tamale United players return to training following Kintampo FC victory

Real Tamale United players are back in training on Wednesday after after they defeated Kintampo FC 1-0 in the Division One League fixture on Sunday afternoon.

Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side made a perfect start to their new campaign after having their opening game postponed, but focus is already on their next match against Nkoranza Warriors this weekend.

Players will be eager to build upon Sunday’s form with another good results, while they wait on the fitness of striker, Yakubu Labandow. The former Gbewaa FC star scored the only goal at the Rawlings Park, but picked up an injury in the last minute of first half.

Victory for United has put them in 5th position in the Zone 1 League table after just one game, and put the pressure on Young Apostles, Berekum Arsenal, Wa Suntaa and Mighty Royals, who have all played a game more.

The players have been given Tuesday off after the victory but returned to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex on Wednesday to begin preparations for the clash against Nkoranza Warriors who beat Tamale City 1-0 at the weekends.

After their first away win in Brong Ahafo since been relegated to the second tie, head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko believes the time is now for the team to make it to the Premier League after almost eight years out of the wilderness. However he caution the objective can only be achieved with support from the Board and management of the club.
