Emmanuel Yeboah scored a sensational brace as Young Apostles defeated Steadfast 3-0 and got the 2021/22 Division One League season off to a magnificent and exciting start.
Gargo Mohammed’s side made a short trip to Techiman to engage the home side who have adopted the Nana Amiyaw Park as their home grounds for now after the Sunyani Coronation Park failed to meet the Club Liencing regulations criteria.
After almost overhauling his squad due to the departure of seven key players after last season, and despite an impressive 2020 /21 seasona, the Tamale based side were well beaten at in Techiman.
Two first half goals from Emmanuel Yeboah in the 29th and 32nd minutes In what had been a battling half with chances at either end, nothing further of note arrived on either goal before the break, with the home side going in ahead.
Steadfast got the dream start to the second half that they wanted with some beautiful play but after creating some decent chances failed to convert them. They were however punished for their poor finishing when two became three for the hosts on the 79th minute.
It’s the start Steadfast would have wonted but Gargo Mohammed will probably pick some positives from this match as he continues to build an overhauled squad with young and talented players.
