The third week of the Division One League provides many narratives as all 16 clubs in Zone 1 are in action.

Four teams are perfect through the first two rounds of play and four of them will feature in two matches this week — the surprising Young Apostles and bottom side Tamale City square off on Saturday while Berekum Arsenal and Gbewaa FC meet on Sunday.

Elsewhere, the likes of B. A. United , Bofoakwa Tano, Kintampo FC, Unity FC, Techiman City, Steadfast, and Paga Crocodile search for their first win of the 2020-21 season.

Young Apostles are in such a fine form that every contest they enter into these days already seems destined to end their favour.

But the Bono Ahafo based side, who sit at the top of the league standings after two games, would be faced with a tricky match on Saturday when they travel to Tamale to face Tamale City.

The weekend pairings pits the early pacesetter with the Citizens at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. The away side have picked six points from their first two encounters against Nkoranza Warriors and Nsoatreman FC but Tamale City would seek to cause an upset after defeat in their last game away to Warriors.

The Tamale based side were expected to honour their postponed opening day game against Kintampo Fc on Wednesday, but the game was called off due to security arrangements. As such they are hungry for their first win which makes this encounter tricky.

Though not a derby, the weekend top-liner is at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where Real Tamale United host Nkuranza Worriors. The Pride of the North recorded their first win in the Bono Regions since 2014 over the weekend against Kintampo FC, and would be looking at extending that feat at home but they would be faced by one the best performing sides in the Zone In the last two seasons.

RTU are 5th after just one game while their opponents are just behind them in 6th coming from victory over Tamale City, a win which would boost their confidence.

At the Coronation Park in Sunyani , troubled B. A. United would try to pick their first win when they welcome Nsoatreman FC.

The former Premier League side, smarting themselves from defeat in their first game and a draw against City rivals Bofoakwa Tano over the weekend are yet to score a goal in the league. A win would calm nerves but Nsoatreman are capable of spoiling their party.

Berekum Arsenals, in search of their second win, return to the Golden City Park to play Yendi Gbewaa FC , who are looking for their maiden victory.

Wa Suntaa recorded an away victory last week and welcome Techiman City to the Malik Jabir Park. At the Paga Town Park, Paga Crocodile entertain Kintampo FC while Bofoakwa Tono play host Mohammed Gago’s Steadfast.
