Real Tamale United continued their impressive away form this season after picking up a 2-1 victory over Unity FC in Kenyansi to cement their promotion ambitions.

The home side made a bright start to the game with Gideon Mensah opened the floodgates in the 28th minutes.

The Pride of the North fought back in the second half with Mustapha Fuseini scoring the leveler. Before the game RTU had accumulated 11 points from 18 in their travels, something the club haven’t archived since their relegation in 2012-13 season.

However after a second bookable offense resulting in a red card to Oppong Frank, Mustapha Fuseini took full advantage to ensure RTU pick their fourth away victory outside the Northern Region with a sublime finish in the dying minutes of the game.

The win on Sunday takes the Northern Blues level on points with Steadfast in third, one point adrift of Leaders Berekum Arsenal, who dropped points against Bofoakwa Tano at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Mustapha Fuseini’s brace, his first this season ensured RTU came from behind for the third time this season to cushion their bid to return to Premier League football next campaign.

What’s Next for RTU?

Real Tamale will return to action away to Techiman City, however the game is likely to be honored at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium after the Ghana Football Association banned Techiman City from using their home vunue for valuation of Covid-19 Protocols.
