It is Easter weekend and Division One League football returns following the pause for the March international break, with the first round of the 2020-21 season ending this weekend and every point now of huge importance to each club.

Berekum Arsenal’s short trip to Sunyani to face Bofoakwa is perhaps the pick of the fixtures but with Real Tamale United knocking on the doors of top flight football next season, pressure will be on the home side.

RTU will look to continue their fine away form and take advantage of a bedraggled-looking Unity FC side after some fine displays away this season. Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side are playing with confidence and fluency, and have already amassed 11 points from 18 away games outside Tamale, something they haven’t archived since their demotion into the Division One almost 9 years ago.

The Blues are in irresistible form right now and while they can expect a contest of rigorous physical intensity from Unity FC, it’s difficult to see any other outcome than Coach Tanko’s well-drilled team returning to Tamale with all three points.

RTU have surpassed their expectations by many in the first half of the season as they chase for promotion after 8 years in the wilderness.

With 8 wins from 14 games and 3 defeats, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side are just 3 points off leaders Berekum Arsenal going into the end of the first round.

Team News:

Alhassan Fauzan is suspended for this game. The striker who scored in RTU’s last home game was sent off in the dying minutes of their 3-0 win over Gbewaa FC for time wasting. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ibrahim is in the squad and so the technical team have a full house to pick on Sunday.
