The Ghana Division One League, Zone 1 table is very congested as it stands with just four points between league leaders Berekum Arsenal and 9th placed Tamale City.

There’s plenty of exciting matches set for this weekend with Nkoranza Warriors’ visit to Berekum City Park one of the feature matches, while RTU and Bofoakwa Tano should close things out on a high note.

Yendi Gbewaa FC’s pursuit of their first win of the season will continue on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Nsoatreman FC to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Care Taker coach Sham-Una’s side are currently 15th on the table – 12 points off the summit – while the away side are in 11th spot having suffered a 2-0 loss away to Steadfast FC in their last away match.

Gbewaa FC is a struggling team with just two draws all season but will take positives from their performances against Steadfast last week. Their opponents come into this game having their home ground banned by the Football Association for fans violence against RTU last week and will go into this game with little confidence.

Berekum Arsenal might have been on top of the Zone One table but this game boils down to one simple factor, the Gunners would have to play this game without fans as the Ghana Football Association take measure to ensure adherence to Covid-19 protocol.

The pressure is on Arsenal once again due to Warriors’ stunning form of late after their impressive home win over Mighty Royals last week.

Fourth-placed RTU travel to Paga to engage an out-of-sort Crocodile Stars on Sunday as they look to continue their impressive start to the season and remain in the top four of the Zone One League table.

The Northern Blues will be hoping for a positive result to end their current run of two consecutive draws, having won two away matches so far in their last three games.

RTU are in their stride at present but have a poor recent record against the Crocodile Stars after losing their last trip to the Paga Town Park. However coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko said he has learned from the last trip and is confident of another win.

Mighty Royals and Young Apostles head into their fixture on Sunday afternoon sitting in seventh and eighth position respectively on the table.

However, just three points separate Royals and 10th-placed B. A. United, which keeps the pressure on these two teams to maintain their recent good form.

Having ended Wa Suntaa’s unbeaten record with a ruthless 3-1 win last week, the Young Apostles will feel that they are well equipped to earn at least a point at Wamanafo Com Park.

Bofoakwa Tano will be looking to make it four straight wins when they welcome a struggling Kintampo Fc to the Coronation Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Hunters are currently second in the Zone One League table following a fine start to the campaign, but Kintampo Fc sit down in 16th spot having recorded no win of their 6 league outings this term.

In other intriguing games, Steadfast continue their push for Premier League action next year as they welcome struggling Unity FC while Wa Suntaa take on Tamale City in Wa.
