Former Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United had their away unbeaten start to the season ended by a spirited Mighty Royals in the penultimate match at the Wamanafo Community Park on Wednesday.

The Pride of the North went into the game having recorded three wins and a draw in four games on their travels but they squandered the chance to move two points clear of Berekum Arsenal in the race for qualification.

RTU’s form away has been immaculate with just two league points from a total of 12 dropped going into this encounter. But after starting the game on a brighter note with some flashes of chances, they succumbed to a late penalty which was initially saved by goalkeeper Emmanuel Esandor before Prince Atta Antwi connected the rebound to halt their away unbeaten run.

The team will go back to the drawing board as they welcome Berekum Arsenal to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium this weekend in another crucial game.
