Real Tamale United defender Bawa Samuel has been encouraged by the team’s start to the Division One League season, despite their setback against Techiman City on Thursday.

The Former Techiman City pillar is confident coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s men will bounce back from Thursday’s draw to his former club at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

The Pride of the North were held 1-1 at home in an outstanding match – their second league draw of the season – after an impressive performance completely lacking goals when the home side created more than eleven descent chances.

The setback left them three points behind pacesetters Berekum Arsenal but Bawa has tipped them to bounce back when they play Paga Crocodile Stars on Sunday.

Speaking to Sey Mubarick after the draw, the lanky defender said: “RTU are doing well this year. It was surprising we didn’t win after all the chances we created”.

“Drawing against Techiman City is never a good thing because it’s a game we should have won considering our performances in previous games though they are a good side.

“I hope RTU are going to bounce back from this draw and start a new series of winning games. The goal is to win this Zone – when you play for a club like RTU every year the expectation is to win and qualify after eight years in the wilderness.

“It’s a good start and the team is going to come back for sure” Bawa assured fans.

Bawa Samuel has had an impressive start to the season so far with two man of the match awards.
