Bawa Samuel has handed Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko an injury blow after the Real Tamale United defender failed to recover ahead of their Premier League clash against Elmina Sharks.

Bawa has been struggling with the ankle injury which he sustained in RTU’s 1-1 against Asante Kotoko in midweek and his return date has continued to be pushed back since then.

In his absence RTU have managed well at the back. Hedir Mohammed stepped into the side in Kumasi when Bawa sustained the knock and been exemplary, giving Coach Tanko a selection dilemma when Bawa does return.

The Pride of the North will be hoping that he will return to full fitness soon and it could suggest that Wednesday’s MTN FA Cup tie against Dreams Tamale could also come too soon for the former Techiman City defender.

The trust he has shown in Yussif Mohammed, Nurudeen, Mathew Abayase and Hedir Mohammed looks set to continue, and they have earned the right to keep their places in the team.

Real Tamale United will be looking to bounce back to winning way after that impressive performance against Asante Kotoko on Wednesday. And a win at home to Sharks will boost their top four ambitions.
