New Premier League entrance RTU kicked off their pre-season campaign by thrashing a Tamale Select side 5-2 at the Tamasco Park on Saturday afternoon.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko fielded a team mixed with new and old players as he continues his bid to form a formidable team to compete in the 2021-22 GPL, but it was Ismael Nketiah who opened his account with a cool finish after a one two with Stephen Dankwah. Lanandoo Yakubu then made it two on the stroke of half time.
RTU, who made a raft of changes at the break, extended their lead when substitutes Mutala Abuba, Fuseini Mustapha and Peter Yakubu completed the scoring after The Select Side pulled two goals back.
The Pride of the North will return to training on Monday as they prepare for the Super Cup Competition.
