Real Tamale United have suffered a big blow ahead of the epic fixture against Accra Lions following the unavailability of some notable players due to injuries and national assignment.
The WayyUna Boys will travel to Sogakope in the match-day ten of the Ghana Premier League in search of their second away victory, but will have to do without some key players.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko and his charges will be hoping for a victory over the newly promoted side in Monday’s encounter after already beating Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park a fortnight ago.
This match has come too soon for midfielder Abdulai Hafiz Pablo after picking an ankle injury in RTU’s 2-0 win over Elmina Sharks last Sunday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Young defender Bawa Samuel, who has been instrumental since the start of the season at the back, currently is suffering from a similar injury that may keep him out of action for another week.
Another player to kiss the trip to Sogakope is former Liberty Professional midfielder Issah Huda, who picked up a knee injury in the MTN FA Cup win over Dreams Tamale in midweek. It was his first start of the season and though scored RTU’s only goal in that match, he couldn’t continue after colliding with an opposition player.
David Abagna, who is now the Ghana Premier League top scorer with eight goals, is currently on national duty after his first call up into the Black Stars ahead of the AFCON in Cameroon.
The Pride of the North will engage Accra Lions on Monday at the home grounds of WAFA as the Accra Sports Stadium is still closed to football activities.
