Ghana Women’s Premier League: FC Savannah intensify preparations ahead of 2021/22 season

Premier league newcomers FC Savannah have taken their preparations towards their first ever season in the women’s premier league a notch higher with some rigorous exercises both on the field and at the gym.

The Women’s Premier League is expected to start on 17th December 2021. Twenty (20) clubs will be participating in the league across two zones.

After weeks of training the technical team intensified the training of the ladies to prepare them well for the task ahead. The team has already played two friendly games, and a couple of low and high profile matches are expected to be played by the team in the coming weeks.

The “fire girls” have already added Iddrisu Iklima and Ikma Yong from Bagabaga Ladies FC and Kpanvo Future Ladies respectively. Matilda is another addition from Nasara Ladies as the team beef up for the upcoming season.

In the treatment room, are defensive pillars Safia Bakari who is down with an ankle injury and Mariam Abdul Mumin who is also down with a foot injury after a one-on-one situation with a team mate during training. They are expected to return to practice as soon as possible.

Abdulai Danjuma who takes over from Tamimu Adams as head Coach going into the season believes the spirit in camp is high and strong and most of the girls are determined to make an impact when the league starts in December.
