The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying (group stage) campaign is set to begin in midweek.

 

The best African players will be in action for their respective national teams during the current international FIFA break.

Riyad Mahrez

 

The Manchester City winger remains one of the top African wingers having led Algeria to the 2019 AFCON title in Egypt.

 

Mahrez and his Algeria teammates are set to take on Zambia in a Group H match at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida on Thursday.

 

Sadio Mane

 

The Liverpool FC winger is arguably the best winger in world football at the moment having played a key role for Senegal as they reached the 2019 AFCON final.

 

Senegal will look to Mane when they lock horns with Congo-Brazzaville in a Group I match at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thiès on Wednesday.

 

Thomas Partey

 

The Atletico Madrid midfield maestro has established himself as one of Ghana’s key players under coach Kwesi Appiah.

 

Partey will be hoping to play an instrumental role in helping Ghana overcome South Africa in a Group C match at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Cape Coast on Thursday.

 

Wilfried Ndidi

 

The Leicester City central midfielder is an influential player in the current Nigeria national team.

 

Ndidi will be looking to produce a solid performance in order to help Nigeria secure a victory over Benin in a Group L match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah

 

Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world at the moment.
