Instrumental David Abagna scored again as Real Tamale United climbed up to 5th in the Ghana Premier League after edging Elmina Sharks in a thrilling contest at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Before the game, head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko said RTU were clinical in every department and it took 29 minutes to prove that theory as the division’s form side opened up Sharks , allowing Ronald Frimpong to score his first of the campaign.

Although the visitors rallied towards the end of the half and were unlucky when Alhaji Mustapha’s wonderful strike was saved by Osei Yaw, however RTU ruthlessly put them to the sword with another goal, this time from the man of the moment, David Abagna who coolly slaughtered a delightful one- two play with Sadat Mohammed to register his 8th goal of the season.

RTU’s top four ambitions shows no signs of relenting after they registered a fourth win after a convincing performance against Kotoko in midweek.

The team will entertain Dreams Tamale in the round of 64 of the MTN FA Cup on Wednesday before travelling to the capital to engage Accra Lions in week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
