Prince Oppong Boateng, father of Kevin-Prince Boateng has expressed his happiness after his son joined FC Barcelona.
The 31-year-old completed his move to the Catalan club on loan at the end of the season from Italian Serie A side, US Sassuolo on Monday evening.
Barcelona have paid €2m as a loan fee for Boateng and have a purchase option for €8m if they want to keep him after the summer.
“Three days ago, he phoned me to expect a surprise but I didn’t know about it,” he told Space FM.
“When he finally confirmed his move yesterday, it was a great joy for me to have my two sons at Bayern Munich and Barcelona,” he added.
Kevin-Prince Boateng becomes the first Ghanaian in the history of Barcelona and the 14th African to wear their shirt.
