As part of preparations for their 2018/19 Africa campaign, Kumasi Asante Kotoko last Wednesday pitched their strength against Asokwa based lower division side, Deportivo at Adako Jachie.

The exciting friendly match ended 1-1. Experienced midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei who rejoined Kotoko from abroad this season scored for the Porcupines while Godfred Abban got the equalizer for Asokwa Deportivo.

Coach C.K Akunnor believes it was a good exercise for his team ahead of Sunday’s CAF Confederations Cup match against Coton Sports of Cameroon.

The Fabulous Boys are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to succeed in Africa this time round.

As such they have intensified their preparations by playing some friendly matches to test their battle readiness for their Africa opponents.

Last Sunday Kotoko played 1 -1 against their regional rivals Ashgold in former President J.A Kufour 80th birthday celebration match in Kumasi.

On Thursday Kotoko engaged Asokwa Deportivo in a training match which ended in another pulsating 1-1 draw.

Some fans are not enthused with the fact that Kotoko have drawn two games in a row. The fans believe victories would have been a morale booster for the Porcupines in the much touted game on Sunday.

However, the Kotoko technical staff insist the continuous draws cannot be used as a yardstick to assess Kotoko chances against Coton Sports.

Coach C.K Akunnor is cocksure his boys will rise to the occasion and deliver the goods in Cameroon.
