Liverpool have hit the financial jackpot after winning the Champions League.

The Mirror says Liverpool have banked record-breaking revenues in excess of £250million for the 2018-19 season, after their Premier League and Champions League exploits.

For the first time a football club has earned more than a quarter of a billion pounds via competition revenue streams in a single season.

The Reds finished second to Manchester City in England’s top flight, but made more than the champions after appearing three times more than their rivals on UK television.

The breakdown of UK broadcast, international TV and commercial revenue payments saw the newly-crowned European champions take home a cool £152.43million.

Now, having defeated Tottenham in Madrid on Saturday to win Europe’s Premier club competition for the sixth time, prize money from the Champions League heading to Anfield equates to a massive £98.5million.
