Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says victory over Manchester City made up for their past draw at home with Liverpool.

Solskjaer admits the 2-0 win was a “special moment”.

He told VG: “Of course it was. We should have done this against Liverpool earlier.

“You start thinking ‘are we going to win?’ when you fail with the opportunities to put yourself 2-0 up. Of course, it is great that we are able to score the second goal.”

Solskjaer also cleared up the post-match vision of him looking to the stands.

“I was looking for my family.”

The 47-year-old has now led his team to three wins out of four against Pep Guardiola‘s men this season.

“I haven’t beaten Pep three times. It is my players who have done it.

“Yes, I believe in my ability to improve this club as much as I can.”
