Tamale City made light work of Steadfast on Saturday afternoon, with Kwame Frimpong on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory.

Steadfast are one of the most grippingly authentic sides amongst the division one clubs in the North and no wonder they presented Tamale City with one of their toughest games this season.

The Zebras came into the game to prove a point after they came from behind to beat City 2-1 last week in the division one league.

However it mattered little as the Citizens came out the blocks after a difficult start to the game with some decent chances.

Tamale City dominated the entire first half but injury to Steadfast rock man Tia Zakaria opened the gate for City who broke the deadlock in the 38th minute through Kwame Frimpong.

Coach Hamza Mohammed’s side kept control after the break with Steadfast showing little attacking intent, instead seemingly hoping for mistakes to bubble up.

But they were soon punished as Kwame Frimpong comfortably volleyed home from outside the 18 yard to fire City to the next round.
