Ghana international midfielder Mubarak Wakaso put up a five-star performance on his debut for Jiangsu Suning in their goalless draw with Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League on Friday.

The 30-year-old excelled on his debut as he controlled the midfield for the Nanjing based club as was named in coach Cosmin Olăroiu’s three-man midfield alongside Xiang Ji and Xi Wu.

Following a goalless first half, Jiangsu took the upper hand after Shandong debutant Tamas Kadar played just three minutes before being shown a red card in the 70th minute.

With a man advantage, Jiangsu had more chances but Mubarak Wakaso’s powerful shot flew just wide.

Jiangsu Suning failed to convert the plethora of chances that came their way as the match ended in a goalless draw.

Wakaso was replaced with Zichang Huang in the 83rd minute.

The Black Stars midfielder joined Jiangsu Suning from Spanish La Liga club Deportivo Alaves in a deal worth €3 million.
