Few months ago, committees were constituted by Abdul Aziz Ramzi, chairman for Tamale Metro Football association to man the affairs of football activities following his confirmation as football leader in the metropolis.
The Executive Council (Exco Members) too was immediately formed as required by the regulations to carry out their core mandate.
As part of efforts to familiarize themselves with the traditional authorities for operating under their domain, the Tamale Metro Football Association’s Executive Council led by the association’s Chairman Abdul Aziz Ramzy on Monday, August 10 2020 paid a courtesy call on three eminent chiefs in Tamale. Among them included Dakpema Bawah Fuseini, Lamashe Naa and Guma Naa.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the ExCo members of the Association to the custodians of the lands as well as seek their spiritual blessings as they embark on a four-year journey to deliver on their mandate on football activities in the Metropolis.
Dakpema Palace was the first point of call by the Exco members. After the introduction of members to the revered Chief, they outlined their vision of naming a competition in his name dubbed ‘Annual Dakpema Challenge Cup’, which will be honored on an annual basis in honor of His Majesty chieftaincy title.
On his part, Naa Dakpema Bawa Fuseini welcomed the initiative and said the implementation of the idea is long overdue. Hence called for action by the executive council. The chief pledged to offer full support to the Association to successfully organize such a laudable competition.
When paid a courtesy call on, Lamashe Naa and Guma Naa respectively, the pair assured to lend all forms of support to the executive council and therefore urged the Executive council to count on them anytime they need support to boost their work.
