Tamale Metro Football Association inaugurated

The Tamale Metro Football Association was inaugurated on Saturday, 21st November 2020 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

A lot of dignitaries were present to grace the occasion including the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo who was a special guest for the inaugural ceremony.

The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) donated GhS 400.00 to the Tamale Metro Football Association.

The Chairman for the occasion was Mr. Abubakari Abdul-Ganiu, former player, captain and secretary of Eagles FC in Tamale. He is also the CEO of Tamale Super Ladies FC and a Tutor at Vittin Senior High School in Tamale.

Ten Executive Council Members (ExCo) were sworn into office by Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association.

Below is the list of the Ex-Co members that were sworn in:

– Salman Faris

– Mumuni Abdul-Mumin

– Abdulai Shaibu

– Mohammed Bashiru Joba

– Issah Alhassan

– Abdul-Rahaman Anas

– Abdulai Faruk

– Hudu Hamida

– Abubakari Sualisu

– Mohammed Mutaka

The Chairman of the Tamale Metro Football Association, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Ramzy in his address thanked everyone for being part of the inaugural ceremony,

especially the RFA Chairman, Former Vice Chairman of Northern Regional Football Association, Mr. Mohammed Baako Alhassan (Dr. Summer), former Chairman of Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association, Mr. Alhassan Issahaku Dagbamba – Naa, the legendary and young coaches in the Metropolis and all who came to witness the inauguration.

The Chairman also called on all stakeholders of the game of football in the Tamale Metro area to work as a team in order to develop football in the Metropolis.

The special guest for the ceremony, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association also called on the ExCo members to always show commitment in their line of duty and also be ready to sacrifice their time and resources to help grow the game of football in the Metropolis and in Northern Region at large.

He also encouraged everyone in the football family to take the ‘Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy’ serious by advocating for its success.

According to the management member of the Ghana U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, the ‘Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy ‘ would help us get more Referees for our Juvenile Football competitions.
