Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo has extended his philanthropic gesture to the referees association (Northern Region) by presenting assorted drinks as they prepare for their cooper test (fitness test).
The items worth thousands of Ghana cedis include soft drinks and water.
Referees from Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo, Upper East and Upper West Regions are currently in Tamale to participate in the annual cooper test ahead of the new season.
Receiving the items, Ghana Football Association Executive Council member, Fred Achampong expressed appreciation and thanked the NRFA Chairman for the kind gesture.
In his welcome address as the host region, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo charged the referees to erase the bad image posed by the Anas expose in 2018. He said it is time for the referees to redeem the dented image of the profession, as the Ghana Football Association has provided the necessary logistics and motivation to do that.
Over one hundred and fifty male and female referees are expected to go through the exercise to enable the Association select officials to officiate in the upcoming Ghana Premier, Division One and Women’s Leagues respectively.
