Three months ago, the Ghana Football Association promised all ten Regional Football Associations an amount of Ghc10,000 to restart football in their respective regions.

The RFAs were also expected to receive 100 Puma Footballs for their upcoming Regional Leagues.

Speaking on The Sports24 Show, a Facebook LIVE Show by the sports website sports24online.com, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo, the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman confirmed the receipt of the 100 Puma balls and additional six balls for the 3 clubs who are representing the Northern Region in the MTN FA Cup. The six balls he confirmed have since been given to these three clubs – two each.

When quizzed by Kwaku Oduro the host of the show on whether the NRFA has also received the Ghs10,000 promised them some three months ago, he said, “It is a commitment from the GFA and as at last week when we asked, we were told the funds were going to come [and] it was a firm commitment”.

Alhaji Rhyzo continued, “From where I sit, in finance when they say you have committed funds, what it means is that the funds cannot be touched again because you have committed the funds to a particular expenditure. So I want to believe that in due course, the money will definitely come”.
