Days after the closure of filing of Nomination forms to context for various positions at the Regional FA level, the Northern Regional FA chairman says he is not satisfied with the numbers.
Out of the 29 district in the region only about a quarter picked forms to vie for positions at the districts and regional levels.
The GFA set 15th January, 2020 as deadline date for the filing of nomination for the Regional Exco and DFA chairmen and Exco, but the nomination fee of Ghc 700 and Ghc 300 for Regional Exco /DFA and DFA Exco respectively has ward off many who have earlier expressed interest in contesting for various positions.
“Since our district football has been dormant for many years, reviving it shouldn’t go this way, the nomination fee for the first four years should have been free or reduced so many people would be encouraged to get involved. In subsequent years when the passion is ignited they will be ready to pay any amount to vie for positions ” A passionate fan of the game indicated.
Speaking to Sey Mubarick the former Guan Utd CEO lamented “When you have 29 districts and you can’t get even half of the 29 picking forms, then is a worry, we had seven active districts FA and though the numbers have increased, it doesn’t still meet my expectations”
Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo still believe he would have competent people to help develop the game in the Region.
