The Ghana Football Association has agreed a GH₵1m deal with Decathlon Ghana as the official providers of footballs for the women’s league in the country.
The deal which was signed on Thursday will see Decathlon Ghana providing the Women’s Premier League and the Women’s Division One League with kipsta football for the period between 2020/21 season and 2023/24 season.
Decathlon Ghana will inject the women’s leagues with 4000 football in a period of 4 years, worth GH₵600k and a GH₵100k worth of other products for the same period making the entire deal GH₵1m.
Speaking at the launch on Thursday and brimming with excitement, the President of the Ghana Football Association applauded Decathlon Ghana for the partnership outlining the benefits of the relationship.
“Indeed, Decathlon, during this tenure will ensure the provision of 1000 kipsta footballs valued at a ₵150k for a period of 4 years,” he said.
“These footballs have been specifically allocated to women’s football in Ghana – Women’s Premier and Division One Leagues.
“The football association will also have the honour of receiving other products from Decathlon valued at a ₵100k a year for a total of ₵400k for the 4-year period. All the products will be used by women’s football in this country,” he added.
This unprecedentedly is the second football partnership deal the Ghana FA has signed with the previous being with Macron who will be the official football providers the Ghana Premier League and Division One League (the male category).
Ghana football, since the election of Kurt Okraku into office has seen as astronomic rise in branding and marketing , while clubs have been injected with financial assistance and many football equipment.
