Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency and Board Chairman of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Corporation, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama on Monday night welcomed new Premier League comers Real Tamale United to a dinner at his residence.
The Honorable Member dined with the entire playing body, management members, Board members and some supporters of the club at his residence.
The dinner hosted by the young politician was to motivate the team for their stunning display in the Division One League.
RTU emerged champions in Zone of the 2020-21 Division One League thus gaining promotion back to the top flight of Ghana Football after eight years, beating Bofoakwa Tano on goal difference on the final day of the league season.
Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, whose father, the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama was a Board Chairman of RTU, applauded the team for their sterling performance last season. In doing so he presented a cheque of 5000 Ghana Cedis and a set of jersey and has promised to donate 20 footballs for the team to commences pre season.
RTU will be relishing to keep that good form when they join champions Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and other Premier League clubs in the 2021-22 season which kicks off on the 29th October.
