Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font says the club is facing a huge challenge in the coming years.
Font admits the nearing retirement of Leo Messi will present Barca with a huge test.
“In the next 10 years the club has a major challenge: we must go forward without Messi and the best generation in the history of football at a time when the competition is getting stronger, a very rich competition, with clubs of great status behind us,” he said.
“And in this scenario, the economic model of the club is already optimised to the maximum. The last few years we’ve had to sell players to square numbers, that means we do not generate enough resources.”
He considers that “we must change the management model, do with management what Johan (Cruyff) did on the field.”
