Ghana aim to advance to the final round of World Cup qualification as they take on South Africa in Cape Coast on Sunday evening.

The Black Stars come into the game three points behind Bafana Bafana(13) in Group G and desperately need a victory to keep their hopes alive.

South Africa, who have done well in qualification so far, will aim to avoid defeat as they seek to return to the world showcase since 2010.

The Black Stars started the qualification campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ethiopia before losing 1-0 to South Africa in Johannesburg.

They then went on to beat Zimbabwe in back-to-back games before drawing 1-1 with Ethiopia in their reverse fixture on Thursday.

South Africa drew with Zimbabwe in their first game and managed to record wins over Ghana, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe during their second time of asking.

Ghana need to win by any margin to seal top spot in the group.

Ghana will be without the services of Thomas Partey who is out with an injury. South Africa are currently all set for the important encounter.
