The 2019-20 National Women’s League schedule kicks off on Friday, 17th January.

In the marquee game of the opening weekend, Northern Ladies host Kumasi Sports Academy at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

After missing two of their key players in Mukaramah Abudlai and Alhassan Rafia, Northern Ladies will surely be looking to avoid a disappointing start to the campaign.

Two sides on the road to reclaiming their status among the Women football in Ghana, Northern Ladies vs KUSA should serve up a special treat on opening day of the season

Northern Ladies are on the road to redemption after Mukaramah and Rafia left to continue their Education in the United States of America.

The last time these two met at the same venue it didn’t produce the most exciting contest, but Northern Ladies prevailed 3-2.

With the likes of Jafaru Rahama, former U-17 goalkeeper, Issahaku Barikisu, Tokuzuor Fredrica and Akowboah Beatrice all looking to make a statement, we’ll probably witness them operating with a higher intensity to produce thrilling attacking football.

But how the defence holds up against Kumasi Sports Academy electric attacking line is only something the footballing gods can answer.

Coach for KUSA Charlse Anokye hopes to replicate his heroics Northern Ladies County last two seasons by sneaking another draw at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

A big game for both sides so early in the season will be a stern test for both sides but in some ways reduces the pressure on them. Neither manager will want to lose and there is every chance they pay each other respect.
