One of Ghana’s promising strikers Abdul Aziz Yakubu powers Rio Ave into Liga Portugal (Portuguese premiership) after scoring in the 1st minute of the last game of the season against GD Chaves. with this, Abdul Aziz  set a record of scoring the fastest goal in the history of Liga Portugal 2.

Rio Ave hosted GD Chaves in the final match of Liga Portugal 2 in which Rio made away with the 3 maximum points beating the away side 3-0 with Aziz scoring the first goal.
The 23-year old Ghanaian striker is now a back-to-back champion for the Liga 2. Last season, the 6ft 2inch tall striker helped qualify Estoril into the Portuguese premiership.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu scored his 11th goal in the league and 15 goals in all competitions and won 5 MVPs for the season.
Aziz is known by supporters of Rio for his acrobatic celebrations. On the final day, the supporters who trooped into the 12,815 Estadio Do Rio Ave Futebol Clube ( Vila do conde, Portugal) were full of celebrations when their 81 shirted Striker (Aziz) opened the scoring for the home side.
Rio Ave qualified having played 34 matches, with 21 wins, 7 draws and losing 6 with accumulated points of 70.
Abdul Aziz Yakubu placed 8th on the scoring chart with 11 goals. He is the leading scorer for his club Rio Ave.
He is a product of Tamale Zaytuna, a colts club in the Sagnarigu Municipality of Northern Region.
